I'm getting a list together of all the things I wish I knew emotionally I would go through after discharge. We are given instructions about how rehab and the physical experience we will endure and need to watch for. What if there was a way for a stroke survivor to volunteer time to talk to another survivor in the hospital or talk to family members? What if there was a booklet given that emotional support, that survivors need.
I plan to lobby for this action, so please let me know what you wish was told to you that would have better equipped you through the emotional journey. Feel free to post below or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org . Your contribution can potentially save someone from going in a dark hole.
